My religious interests include issues of justice, mercy, and humility, sexuality and spiritual formation, theological analysis of economic theory and economic analysis of theology, anti-Judaism in Christian history and theology, rethinking our notions of the symbol “God” as well as study of the origins of that notion.

In this my personal Christian blog, I hope to be discursive and now and then critical. What I write here is tentative and tensive. I post thoughts, feelings, and observations somewhat randomly and often in immediate response to current events and posts on other blogs.

Melville is a rational man who
